Mijo

After exploring the floor with different masks as through a prolific career (La Royale, Yesco, Moon Runner), 1990 born mexican multi-instrumentalist and producer Alec Sander reveals the face of Mijo. As if he was watching from an indifferent window the death of analog hype and the deep ecstasy of the Ultra-digital era, the music made by Mijo is an almost absurd, and ultimately brilliant ode to the violent quasi tropical machinery that dominates Latin American dancefloors . A nostalgic melody formed by drum machines and malfunctioning sequencers. A call to the future for the birth of a non existent federal district – young techno that would be comfortable calling Tecmex; term coined by the artist himself. He has released music on labels around the world as Sanfuentes Records, Correspondant, Gomma and Her Majesty Ship. He also founded and directs the highly acclaimed Mexican electronic etiquettes Electrique Music, Disque Discos and Exxxtra Picante, that through the years have become global benchmarks of the music made in Mexico, constantly pushing the edge for the creation of a latin techno identity.
