Five years, 77 artists and countless interstellar transmissions: Iptamenos Discos celebrates its fifth anniversary with a new compilation charting the label’s journey from disco to dark wave and beyond.

Founded in Berlin by DJ and producer duo Local Suicide in 2021, Iptamenos Discos has grown from a creative outlet for their own music into an international platform for forward-thinking electronic sounds. The anniversary compilation brings together some of the best-known and most defining tracks from the label’s first five years, presented across three different editions: a ten-track black-and-white marbled vinyl LP, a twenty-track CD housed in a gatefold sleeve and an expanded thirty-track digital edition.

Together, the three formats showcase the broad spectrum that has shaped the label’s identity: from Synth Wave, Dark Disco and Italo Disco to Electroclash, Indie Dance, EBM, Post-Punk and Leftfield Pop. While the sound frequently draws inspiration from the electronic underground of the 1980s and 2000s, Iptamenos Discos has always remained firmly rooted in the present, combining nostalgic influences with modern production, genre-defying collaborations and a distinctly cosmic outlook.

The vinyl edition collects ten essential moments from the catalogue. Several of these tracks have been unavailable on vinyl for years, including Wiener Planquadrat’s “Stillstand”, Dina Summer’s “Who Am I”, Boys’ Shorts’ “New Era”, Kalipo’s “Echoes Of The Past feat. Local Suicide” and Daniele Baldelli and Marco Dionigi’s remix of Dina Summer’s “Mars”. Alexandra Feusi’s “Hello Sunday” and Local Suicide and Wiener Planquadrat’s “Der Apfel Fällt Nicht Weit Vom Stamm” appear on vinyl for the very first time.

The twenty-track CD edition travels even deeper into the catalogue and marks the first physical release for several tracks. These include Wiener Planquadrat’s “Austriano Celentano (Tutto Gas)”, Local Suicide and Wiener Planquadrat’s “Der Apfel Fällt Nicht Weit Vom Stamm”, Dina Summer’s “I Was Always In Love With You”, T.Raumschmiere and Housemeister’s “Samstag Nacht”, Captain Mustache, Third Culture and Victoria Rawlins’ “Camera Lens With Vaseline”, Alexandra Feusi’s “Hello Sunday” and Oh!’s “Alien feat. Alexander Price”.

Opening with Local Suicide’s label manifesto “This Is Iptamenos Discos”, the CD retraces the imprint’s development through key releases by Wiener Planquadrat, Dina Summer, Boys’ Shorts, Skelesys, Psycho Weazel, Curses, Kalipo, Alexandra Feusi, Joshua Murphy, Sissi Rada and many more. The expanded digital edition completes the retrospective with thirty tracks, offering the most comprehensive overview of the label’s first five years.

Originally created by Local Suicide as a home for their own productions and their critically acclaimed debut album “Eros Anikate”, Iptamenos Discos quickly expanded its mission. Over the course of its first five years, the label has worked with 77 artists, vocalists, producers and remixers, including DJ Hell, Arnaud Rebotini, Adana Twins, David Carretta, Lena Platonos, Curses, Gabe Gurnsey, Echonomist, Biesmans, T.Raumschmiere, Housemeister, Daniele Baldelli, Jennifer Touch, Whitesquare, Theus Mago, Rodion, Boys’ Shorts, Dina Summer, Local Suicide and many others.

Translated from Greek, Iptamenos Discos means “flying saucer” or “flying disc” – a name reflected throughout the label’s catalogue in its cosmic rhythms, sci-fi-inspired synthesizers and fascination with journeys into the unknown.

Along the way, Iptamenos Discos has been named Label of the Month by Juno Download and Beatport, regularly entered the upper reaches of the Indie Dance, Electronica, Leftfield, Coldwave and Synth charts and was celebrated with a week-long label takeover on Berlin radio station FluxFM.

The Iptamenos universe has also expanded beyond the label itself. Since 2022, its regular Iptamenos Diskotek concert and club nights have brought the label’s artists and musical vision to cities including Berlin, Paris, London, Athens, Leipzig, Thessaloniki, Cologne, Munich and Vienna. In 2023, Local Suicide established the publishing company Iptamenos Notes, followed in 2024 by the digital and physical distribution service Iptamenos Dianomie.

Five years after its first transmission, Iptamenos Discos remains driven by the same principles on which it was founded: creative freedom, collaboration, independence and music that refuses to remain confined to a single genre, scene or planet.
